Image © Judy G BABY BAMBOO SHARK There was great excitement when Simon found this little fellow, who was barely 6 inches long. I didn't really know what it was that I was photographing (having never heard of the bamboo shark before this trip - but at least I did know it was a shark ;^) Judging by the attention he was receiving, I figured he had to be special. There was a disturbing absence of sharks on our voyage in the Banda Sea - other than this little bamboo shark, one other juvenile reef shark, and a few white tips seen on one of the early dives, sharks were largely absent. Can you say shark fin soup?
